Tibet
In the summer of 2007, I was seeking adventure at every corner and visits to Slovenia, Uganda, Tibet & Nepal did not disappoint me!
In Slovenia I was leading a trip for Warwick University Canoe Club as an intermediates trip. We paddled hard and danced with the locals.
With only a day turn around I headed to Uganda to do some work for an NGO, but found time to head onto the Nile and pull some moves on the famous Nile Special, Super Hole and in fact the rest of the river!
With even less turn around time I was off to Kathmandu in Nepal to start my expedition into the East of Tibet. I didn’t really know what to expect, although my previous travels had prepared me for rural developing world life, the adventures and experiences I had were completely unexpected!
The boating was amazing and expedition life was super cool, learning to take the ups and the downs and our guide was a pleasure to be around!
The report available to download is one I had to write in exchange for the cash to actually go on the expedition from a source from my University. It was jolly nice of them but as the saying goes, nothing is for free!
The file is pretty big and is written from my expedition journal I kept whilst out in Tibet and Nepal.
I have also, in a seperate document written up my River Notes from the expedition and you can download them to read or use as a reference here. Again the file is on the large size!
The photos of the trip are here.
I understand from Stuart Martindale that the footage from the trip will be put together for the world before Easter, so again stay tuned for that.
