It’s been a busy day down at the PaddleSport farm today – the very first flat water course took place with 6 keen members of the public desperate for someone to open the door to the world of kayaking.

That person was me, as I thought about the club on the Findhorn up in Scotland I decided I was actually pretty happy on the lake in the sunshine.
One lazy coach being dragged out the water!
The day ended with some capsize drills and short swims (with kit) to cover all the requirements of the BCU 1 star award to put to paper the groups achievements for the day.

Flat water surfing, great for those stern rudders
Many thanks to Simon and Cliff in the shop for regular cups for tea for everyone on the course and sorting equipment!
In my most manly voice “aren’t they cute”!

David giving me some wisdom that only comes with age!
Wednesday turned out to a good day! My original plan being to go boating during the day as I had the day off lectures but instead decided to do the sensible thing and stay and work.
Another Man Hard At Work
At 4.50pm I rang a lovely lady called Jenny Bradfield whom is secretary for the Lord Rootes Fund. Lord Rootes being the big manufacturing name in Coventry and would have been the first chancellor of Warwick Uni before he died.
He now has a fund for project for students and some how I have been awarded a sum of money to travel to Tibet and paddle undiscovered rivers.
To top that I went to see Lilly Allen play live, got battered and had a subway!
Happy days
